Secretary for Constitutional & Mainland Affairs Raymond Tam today joined the Lamma Island Cleanup Publicity Day as part of the Clean Hong Kong campaign.
Mr Tam, other officiating guests and Islands District Council members distributed cleaning packs to residents in Sok Kwu Wan to urge them to observe good personal and environmental hygiene.
Speaking at the event, Mr Tam noted that the Government attaches great importance to maintaining environmental cleanliness and devotes substantial resources to this work, but that sole reliance on departmental efforts is not enough to keep the environment clean and he urged all citizens to be responsible for keeping the city clean.
Volunteers also cleaned Hung Shing Yeh Beach to promote the message of keeping the shorelines clean.
