Clean HK bus parade held

City spruce-up:  Officials display cleaning packs ahead of the bus parade around Eastern District to promote the importance of good hygiene practices.

The Eastern District Office today held a bus parade in support of the Keep Clean 2015@Hong Kong: Our Home campaign, reminding people to maintain good personal and environmental hygiene.

 

Speaking at this morning’s ceremony, Secretary for Labour & Welfare Matthew Cheung called for concerted efforts to support the campaign and build a cleaner, fresher city.

 

Officiating guests and Eastern District Council members handed out cleaning packs outside Siu Sai Wan Market before boarding the parade bus.

 

Setting off from Siu Sai Wan Estate, the bus visited various locations in the district, including Shau Kei Wan, Aldrich Bay, North Point and Victoria Park. Cleaning packs were distributed to residents and foreign domestic helpers to urge them to observe good hygiene practices.

 

District Officer (Eastern) Anne Teng, Eastern District Council Chairman Wong Kin-pan, Vice Chairman Kung Pak-cheung, acting District Environmental Hygiene Superintendent (Eastern) May Leung, and the chairmen and vice-chairmen of Eastern District Council committees also attended today’s event.
