Spick and span:  Officiating guests helped Shamshuipo Kaifong Welfare Association Primary School students clean their building.

Sham Shui Po District Office held the Clean My Own School launch ceremony today to encourage students to take part in the Keep Clean 2015@Hong Kong: Our Home campaign, and to develop good hygiene habits.

Speaking at the ceremony, Under Secretary for Home Affairs Florence Hui said everyone should be responsible for keeping the environment clean. She also encouraged students to nurture a sense of school cleanliness and to help spread the clean message to the community.

Officiating guests helped Our Lady of the Rosary College and Shamshuipo Kaifong Welfare Association Primary School students to clean their schools and joined workshops on food waste tie-dyeing and Asiatic wormwood mosquito repellent manufacturing.

Twenty-three secondary and primary schools in Sham Shui Po have become Clean My Own School partner schools. Aside from spreading the keep the environment clean message during lessons or morning assemblies, they will also organise cleaning competitions and activities.

School cleaning ambassadors and inspectors will also be appointed to help convey the keep clean message.
