Enhanced environment:  Secretary for Financial Services & the Treasury Prof KC Chan (second right) takes part in cleaning work at Tai Po Hui Market's cooked food centre.

The Tai Po and Wong Tai Sin District Offices held a kick-off ceremony and bus parade today as part of the Keep Clean 2015@Hong Kong: Our Home campaign, to enhance public awareness on hygiene.

 

Speaking at this morning’s ceremony in Tai Po Hui Market, Secretary for Financial Services & the Treasury Prof KC Chan called on people to develop a habit of observing personal and environmental hygiene to keep the city clean.

 

Prof Chan helped clean the market's cooked food centre and handed out cleaning packs to passers-by.

 

The Tai Po District Office will launch the Tai Po Student Cleaning Ambassador Scheme in the new school year.

 

It will also arrange for contractors to clean the common areas of about 180 "three-nil" buildings in the district. 

 

In Wong Tai Sin, a bus parade visited locations including Mei Tung Estate, Lok Fu MTR Station, Choi Wan St Joseph's Primary School, Choi Hung Estate, Rhythm Garden, Fu Shan Estate, MTR Diamond Hill Station, Yin Hing Street, Yuk Wah Crescent and Lower Wong Tai Sin (II) Estate.

 

Officials and Wong Tai Sin District Council members also carried out cleaning work at a lift lobby and public areas of Chuk Yuen (North) Estate.
