More than 800 students from 30 Po Leung Kuk schools have made pledges to keep their hometown clean under the Education Bureau's "My Pledge to Act - Love Our Home & Clean Hong Kong" campaign.
During today's launch ceremony, Secretary for Education Eddie Ng noted that since the 2003/04 academic year, the bureau has been encouraging schools to organise "My Pledge to Act" activities, which aim to help students to set their personal goals, develop a healthy lifestyle and cultivate good character and civic awareness.
This year's campaign urges students to take note of personal hygiene and keep homes, schools, the community and the environment clean; practise healthy living; care for the community; and be responsibile citizens.
