CS inspects hygiene work

August 13, 2015

Chief Secretary Carrie Lam visited "three nil" buildings in Sham Shui Po District today to inspect the work of District Offices in improving the environmental hygiene conditions of their common areas under the Keep Clean 2015@Hong Kong: Our Home campaign.

She first inspected a "three nil" building where cleaning operations had just completed.

Accompanied by Deputy Director of Home Affairs Jack Chan and District Officer (Sham Shui Po) Benjamin Mok, Mrs Lam talked to the cleaning workers and residents, who were supportive of the work.

She later visited a "three nil" building where cleaning work will soon to start to inspect the environmental hygiene conditions of its rooftop and staircase. She said that in the absence of owners' corporations, residents' organisations and property management companies, environmental hygiene conditions of "three nil" buildings are often unsatisfactory.

In addition to improving hygiene conditions, the cleaning services provided for the common areas in "three nil" buildings under the campaign can help reduce potential risks to safety, she said.
