The Centre for Health Protection has announced that from noon yesterday to noon today, 16 new severe adult influenza cases were recorded, including 15 deaths.
This brings the total number of severe adult cases to 282, including 196 deaths. Among them, 271 were A(H3N2), six were B and five were A pending subtype.
No new severe children’s cases were recorded over the period.
The centre urged people to stay vigilant, get vaccinated early, and maintain good personal and environmental hygiene.
