The Centre for Health Protection has announced that from noon yesterday to noon today, four new severe adult influenza cases were recorded, including two deaths.
This brings the total number of severe adult cases to 218, including 142 deaths. Among them, 207 were A(H3N2), five were B and six were A pending subtype.
No new severe children’s cases were recorded over the period.
The centre urged people to stay vigilant, get vaccinated early and maintain good personal and environmental hygiene.
