Chief Executive CY Leung today met Minister of Commerce Gao Hucheng in Beijing. Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development Gregory So also attended the meeting.
Mr Leung said they discussed the liberalisation of trade in services, a free trade zone, and wholesale food prices.
To ensure food safety and price stability, Mr Leung said a deputy minister will visit Hong Kong before the Lunar New Year.
Mr Leung thanked the Ministry of Commerce for supporting Hong Kong during the year, and he hopes to further exchange views with it.
Mr Gao said Hong Kong representatives contributed to trade negotiations at the recent Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation meeting in Bali.
