The Centre for Health Protection has learned of three new human cases of avian influenza A (H7N9) in Guangdong, involving one man and two women.
The patients, aged 59 to 76, are from Chaozhou, Jiangmen and Zhaoqing. All have underlying illnesses.
A total of 707 human cases of H7N9 have been reported by Mainland health authorities since 2013.
The centre reminded people not to visit live poultry markets and farms and to avoid contact with poultry, birds and their droppings.
