The Centre for Health Protection has learned of 19 new human cases of avian influenza A(H7N9) on the Mainland, involving 11 men and eight women.
The patients are aged 42 to 91. Four have died.
Eleven cases are from Zhejiang, five are from Jiangsu and three are from Fujian.
A total of 702 human cases of H7N9 have been reported by Mainland health authorities since 2013.
The centre reminded people not to visit live poultry markets and farms and to avoid contact with poultry, birds and their droppings.
