The Education Bureau will provide two hearing aids to hearing-impaired students from September, benefiting 1,500 youngsters.
The bureau said today the hearing-aid replacement period will be shortened from five years to three. The improved provision will be fully phased in by the end of the new school year.
Maintenance and repair of the hearing aids, regular audiological assessments, as well as guidance and counselling for the children and their parents, will be provided.
