New post: Duncan Pescod will succeed Rita Lau as Permanent Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development (Communications & Technology).

Special Representative for Hong Kong Economic & Trade Affairs to the European Communities Duncan Pescod will succeed Rita Lau to take up the post of Permanent Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development (Communications & Technology).

 

Secretary for the Civil Service Denise Yue today said Mr Pescod is a seasoned Administrative Officer with rich experience in public administration and proven leadership and management skills.

 

"I have every confidence he will continue to serve the community with professionalism and dedication in his new capacity, and ably lead his colleagues to meet the challenges ahead."

 

Aged 49, Mr Pescod joined the Administrative Service in August 1981, and rose to his present rank of Administrative Officer Staff Grade A in April 2007.

 

He has served in the former Home Affairs and Security Branches, the Lands Department, the former Urban Services Department, the former City & New Territories Administration and the former Civil Service Branch.

 

He was Deputy Commissioner for Tourism from June 2001 to November 2004, and Efficiency Unit Head from November 2004 to February 2006. He has been Special Representative for Hong Kong Economic & Trade Affairs to the European Communities since March 2006.
