A 35-year-old Vietnamese illegal worker was jailed for 15 months by Sha Tin Magistracy yesterday.
Immigration Department officers and Police arrested him in a raid on April 13 at the Kwai Tsing Container Terminals where he was working illegally.
The man is a non-refoulement claimant holding an immigration recognisance form that prohibits him from working.
He was charged and convicted for taking up employment in Hong Kong without the authority of the Director of Immigration and while being a person in respect of whom a removal order was in force.
