A 26-year-old Vietnamese illegal worker was jailed for 15 months by Sha Tin Magistracy yesterday.
Immigration Department officers arrested her in a raid on April 25 at a restaurant in Lai Chi Kok where she was working illegally.
The woman is a non-refoulement claimant holding an immigration recognisance form that prohibits her from working. She used a forged Hong Kong identity card for the job interview.
She was charged and convicted for using a forged identity card and taking up employment in Hong Kong without the authority of the Director of Immigration after having landed in Hong Kong unlawfully.
