The Centre for Health Protection said today it is monitoring three avian influenza A (H7N9) cases on the Mainland and an imported case in Taiwan.
A patient from Hunan is in serious condition after being exposed to poultry.
A patient from Guangxi who worked in Guangdong before falling sick is in critical condition, with the third Mainland case from Hubei.
The Taiwan patient returned home on January 25 for treatment after falling sick in Guangdong on January 23. He was diagnosed with the H7N9 infection yesterday.
The centre reminded travellers to the Mainland and other avian influenza-affected areas not to visit live poultry markets and farms, and to avoid contact with poultry and their droppings.
