The Centre for Health Protection is monitoring an additional imported case of Zika virus infection in Guangdong.
The National Health & Family Planning Commission reported the 55-year-old male patient flew back from Guatemala to Guangzhou on September 16.
He went to a hospital in Jiangmen to treat a fever, and was confirmed to be infected with the Zika virus yesterday.
Twenty-four imported cases have been reported on the Mainland so far.
The centre is liaising with the World Health Organisation and overseas, neighbouring and Mainland health authorities.
