Singapore Zika cases monitored

August 28, 2016

The Centre for Health Protection is monitoring 41 new cases of Zika virus infection in Singapore and urges the public to adopt strict anti-mosquito measures during travel.

According to the Singapore Ministry of Health, the patients are residents or workers in the Aljunied Crescent or Sims Drive area who have no recent travel history to affected areas.

They are likely to have been infected in Singapore.

The centre is liaising with the World Health Organisation, and overseas, neighbouring and Mainland health authorities.
