The Centre for Health Protection received notification today of a third imported case of Zika virus infection on the Mainland involving a 38-year-old Zhejiang man.
Travelling to Fiji and Samoa on a tour, he arrived in Hong Kong on February 14 on Fiji Airways flight FJ391. He was found to have a fever and a rash at Huanggang when returning to the Mainland on the same day.
He has been hospitalised in Yiwu, Zhejiang, and the case was laboratory confirmed today.
The centre urges the public, particularly pregnant women, those planning pregnancy, and immunocompromised patients, to adopt strict anti-mosquito measures during travel.
