The Centre for Health Protection has been notified that a 46-year-old man in Sichuan has died from avian influenza A (H5N1).
The man was a poultry worker who lived in Suining.
The centre reminded people not to visit live poultry markets and farms, and to avoid contact with poultry, birds or their droppings.
