The Centre for Health Protection has learned of a new human case of avian influenza A(H7N9) in Guangdong Province, and urges people to maintain strict personal, food and environmental hygiene at home and while travelling.
The patient is a 45-year-old man who lives in Meizhou who is in hospital in critical condition.
To date, Mainland authorities have reported 573 human cases of avian influenza A(H7N9).
