Poultry from UK county banned

February 03, 2015

The Centre for Food Safety has banned the import of poultry products, including eggs, from Hampshire in the UK, due to an outbreak of low pathogenic H7 avian influenza.

The centre is liaising with British authorities and will monitor information issued by the World Organisation for Animal Health.

Hong Kong imported more than 18,000 tonnes of frozen and chilled poultry meat and 7.2 million eggs from the UK last year.
