4 MERS cases monitored

The Department of Health is monitoring four additional Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) cases Saudi Arabia reported to the World Health Organisation.
The first patient is a man aged 55 from the western part of the country. He fell ill on August 17 and is hospitalised.
The second patient is a man aged 38 from the country’s eastern part. He fell ill on August 8 and died on August 17.
The remaining two cases, a boy aged 16 and a girl aged seven, are family contacts of the second patient. They are in good health with no symptoms.
This brings the latest global number of confirmed cases to 108, including 50 deaths.
No human infection with this virus has been identified in Hong Kong.
