Mid-East syndrome cases monitored

The Department of Health is closely monitoring two new cases of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome that Qatar reported to the World Health Organisation.
 
One is a 59-year-old who is in stable condition in hospital. He travelled to Saudi Arabia and became ill when he returned to Qatar on August 15.
 
The other patient is a 29-year-old man who had no recent travel history.
 
This brings the latest global number of confirmed Middle East Respiratory Syndrome cases to 104, including 49 deaths.
 
No human infection with this virus has been identified in Hong Kong.
