Suspected Middle East case negative

A 20-year-old man has tested negative for Middle East Respiratory Syndrome, the Centre for Health Protection confirmed today.
 
The patient travelled from the United Kingdom on August 23 and transited in Qatar. He fell ill on the following day, and is currently isolated at Queen Mary Hospital. He is stable.
 
No human infection with this virus has been identified in Hong Kong.
