Secretary for Financial Services & the Treasury Prof KC Chan will visit Seoul tomorrow to learn about the city's experience and initiatives in nurturing financial technology - or FinTech - developments.
He will meet with key personnel of the financial regulator and the sector, including the Financial Services Commission, the Korea Financial Investment Association and the Korea Federation of Banks, to discuss issues of mutual interest.
To see the latest developments in the Korean FinTech sector, Prof Chan will also visit companies which provide mobile banking, financial services and investment programmes for Korean start-ups.
He will speak at a luncheon for Korean investors to highlight Hong Kong’s investment opportunities and its role as China's global financial centre.
Prof Chan will return to Hong Kong on Wednesday.
