Secretary for Financial Services & the Treasury Prof KC Chan will visit Stockholm and London from May 10 to 14.
He will learn about the latest developments in financial technologies, or Fintech, and promote Hong Kong as the world's leading offshore Renminbi centre.
Prof Chan is scheduled to meet senior government officials and financial regulators to better understand their efforts to promote Fintech and create a conducive environment to facilitate its developments.
He will visit pioneer Fintech companies and meet with major market players that provide online and mobile payment services, money transfer, cybersecurity and crowdfunding platforms, for an update on the ecosystem and application of Fintech in those areas.
Prof Chan will also meet with Stockholm Stock Exchange staff, as well as financial and banking sector officials in both cities, to discuss financial co-operation and to encourage investment opportunities.
He is scheduled to give keynote speeches at Stockholm School of Economics and London Business School, and will attend roundtable and luncheon meetings.
