Secretary for Financial Services & the Treasury Professor KC Chan has concluded his five-day official visit to Stockholm and London with tours of pioneer financial technologies, or Fintech, companies in the British capital.
Prof Chan joined a breakfast roundtable with key Fintech stakeholders arranged by Level39 - one of Europe's largest technology accelerators for finance, retail, cybersecurity and future cities technology companies - and found out more about the Fintech ecosystem and government support to financial innovations.
He also visited Digital Shadows, a Fintech company providing cybersecurity services, and Seedrs, the first equity crowdfunding platform for start-ups to receive regulatory approval from the UK's Financial Conduct Authority.
Prof Chan ended his trip by visiting money transfer company TransferWise, and Accenture, a Fintech support service.
He had earlier met with government officials and the financial regulator in London to foster financial co-operation, and promoted Hong Kong's financial and Renminbi businesses at a London Business School seminar.
