Secretary for the Environment KS Wong met with architects in New York yesterday to exchange ideas about urban sustainability and green buildings.
Mr Wong toured the High Line park and a new residential building awarded green certification. He then spoke at a luncheon co-organised by the Hong Kong Economic & Trade Office in New York and the American Institute of Architects to share his insights on Hong Kong's way forward as a low-carbon, smart city.
While in the city, he also visited the green waterfront implemented in Battery Park City and met with Battery Park City Authority President Shari Hyman. He also spoke to the architectural team of two eco-friendly buildings, Brookfield Place and Visionaire.
Mr Wong's next stop is Washington.
