Secretary for the Environment KS Wong has represented Hong Kong at the C40 Steering Committee Meeting on tackling climate change in New York.
He attended the C40 Steering Committee Mayoral Meeting to exhange views with other cities' representatives on their strategies and experiences, and joined the Climate Week NYC 2014's opening, and the C40 City Climate Leadership Awards reception .
While in New York, Mr Wong took the opportunity to learn more about the United States' experience in green building development, low-carbon living and other issues related to energy and the environment, especially those applicable to a high-rise urban context.
He visited the Skyscraper Museum to explore the relationship between high-rise building and sustainable development.
Mr Wong will continue his visit in New York today.
