Role models:  Director of Water Supplies Enoch Lam appoints new Water Conservation Ambassadors.

Young water ambassadors appointed

July 11, 2014

The Water Supplies Department has appointed 523 primary students as Water Conservation Ambassadors.

More than 4,500 students from 35 primary schools joined the scheme at the sixth Water Conservation Ambassador Selection Scheme certificate presentation ceremony today.

The number of participants increased by about 1,000 compared to last year.

Speaking at the ceremony, Director of Water Supplies Enoch Lam said he hopes the students become role models to convey water-saving messages to their peers and family members.

The department has been running the Water Conservation Starts From Home promotional campaign in primary schools since the 2008-09 school year to encourage youngsters to treasure water resources.
