Extending thanks

Extending thanks:  Chief Secretary Carrie Lam hosts an appreciation dinner in Chengdu.

Chief Secretary Carrie Lam today inspected Hong Kong funded reconstruction work in Sichuan, including the Museum of Nature & Earthquake, the Wolong Administration's Headquarters and the Digital Wolong Command Centre.

She watched a demonstration of the Digital Wolong System and the Smart Tourism System, which make use of information and communication technologies for scientific research, public education, public safety, administrative capabilities and ecotourism promotion.

She then met with local residents to see how they are settling in to their new lives after Hong Kong supported the implementation of a number of restoration projects in local areas.

The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government hosted a dinner to thank volunteers for taking part in the Hong Kong funded projects.

Speaking at the dinner, Mrs Lam said many non-governmental organisations and voluntary organisations helped in rebuilding Sichuan.

She thanked the volunteers for their selfless contributions.
