Chief Secretary Carrie Lam will lead a delegation to Sichuan from May 10 to 12 to conclude the Hong Kong SAR Government's work in supporting the reconstruction of Wenchuan county which was struck by an earthquake in 2008.
Mrs Lam will officiate at the breakthrough ceremony for the section of Provincial Road 303 from Yingxiu to Wolong and open a giant panda park.
She will also call on provincial government officials; attend the Trade Development Council's "SmartHK, Chengdu" event; tour Tianfu New District and the Chengdu Planning Exhibition Hall, as well as meet Hong Kong people living in the province.
The delegation will include reconstruction project volunteers and media representatives.
Secretary for Labour & Welfare Matthew Cheung will act as Chief Secretary during Mrs Lam's absence.
