Secretary for Justice Rimsky Yuen today attended a seminar in Shanghai to promote Hong Kong's legal and dispute resolution services and its advantages as an international arbitration centre.
About 300 Mainland legal professionals, enterprise representatives and government officials attended the seminar.
Speaking at the seminar, Mr Yuen said Hong Kong can act as a neutral venue and provide dispute resolution services when disputes arise between Mainland and foreign enterprises.
"Therefore, we encourage Mainland enterprises to choose Hong Kong as the venue for dispute resolution when they negotiate contracts and draft dispute resolution clauses with their foreign investors."
Mr Yuen met Shanghai Municipal Government Executive Vice Mayor Tu Guangshao and Shanghai Commercial Mediation Centre representatives.
