Financial Secretary John Tsang met top Singapore officials today and spoke at the 7th ASEAN & Asia Forum.

 

He met Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong and Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam.

 

He also met Temasek’s Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer Ho Ching, and Singapore Exchange’s Chairman Chew Choon Seng.

 

Speaking at the forum, Mr Tsang outlined Hong Kong’s roles as the gateway to China, a global business centre, a global financial centre, and a global aviation and logistics centre.

 

He said the early and successful conclusion of ASEAN-Hong Kong Free Trade Agreement negotiations will bring mutual benefits generated from greater regional co-operation.

 

Mr Tsang will return to Hong Kong tonight.
