Eddie Ng to visit Indonesia

Secretary for Education Eddie Ng will visit Indonesia to promote educational co-operation and exchange between Hong Kong and Association of Southeast Asian Nations member states.

 

He will meet with Universitas Pelita Harapan management to discuss co-operation opportunities in tertiary education and to promote Hong Kong as a regional education hub. He will also brief a group of local community leaders from Hong Kong on the latest developments in education and related issues in the city.

 

On December 17, Mr Ng will call on the Indonesian Minister of National Education and visit the Regional Centre for Quality Improvement of Teachers & Education Personnel in Language under the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organisation.

 

In Jakarta, Mr Ng will join a cross-country study tour with 100 teachers and students from Po Leung Kuk schools following an invitation from the schools' sponsoring body.

 

Mr Ng's Administrative Assistant Kenneth Cheng and Chief Curriculum Development Officer (Personal, Social & Humanities Education) Lee Chi-hung will join him on the duty visit.

 

The group will return to Hong Kong on December 18. Under Secretary for Education Kevin Yeung will be the Acting Secretary for Education in Mr Ng's absence.
