Legal chief to open Shanghai forum

*

Secretary for Justice Wong Yan Lung will open the Department of Justice's legal services meeting in Shanghai tomorrow, its largest forum to date.

Mr Wong will address 500 legal practitioners, business executives and officials at the forum, which will show the Mainland's corporate and legal sectors the strength of Hong Kong's legal profession and dispute-resolution service.

It will also foster co-operation between the legal and arbitration communities of both sides.

Issues to be discussed include risk management in international trade and investment, corporate finance and governance, as well as resolving disputes. Veteran Hong Kong lawyers will share their experiences.

Mr Wong will host a welcome dinner this evening for the forum's co-organisers, support organisations, speakers and moderators.

He has also visited the Hong Kong Pavilion and Hong Kong's Urban Best Practices Area Exhibition at the Shanghai Expo.
