Forty people have been given Good Citizen Awards for helping Police catch more than 30 suspects for offences including manslaughter, theft, burglary, robbery, indecent assault and attempted deception.

Speaking at the award presentation ceremony today, Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police Tang How-kong praised the awardees for their gallantry and thanked them for helping Police fight crime. He reiterated public support for the Police is crucial to maintaining a stable and harmonious society.

The award, presented twice a year, is organised by the Police Public Relations Branch with sponsorship from the General Chamber of Commerce. Each award winner received a certificate and a cheque of $2,000 at today's ceremony.
