Police alert despite low terror threat
*
Hong Kong Police

Police are keeping a high degree of vigilance against possible terrorist activities despite Hong Kong's low threat level.

The Force issued the statement in response to media enquiries on an appeal by Interpol's Secretary General Ronald Noble, for police forces in the world to keep up their vigilance against terror attacks in the event of war breaking out in Iraq.

Commissioner of Police Tsang Yam-pui is in Malaysia discussing with Malaysian authorities regional co-operation in the fight against terrorism.

Mr Tsang will have similar discussions Tuesday in Singapore. He returns to Hong Kong Thursday.
