Tai O riverwall contract awarded
*
Civil Engineering & Development Department

The Civil Engineering & Development Department today awarded a $99 million contract for the construction of a riverwall at Yat Chung, Tai O, and ancillary improvement works.

The 200-metre wall and ancillary upgrades will alleviate flooding on Wing On Street and areas south of Tai Ping Street due to high tides.

Other works include the provision of drainage and sewerage systems behind the wall, upgrading the garden in front of the Kwan Tai Temple, and improving signage within Tai O.

The works will start this month for completion in just under two years.
