'No junk mail' sticker to launch

*
Opt-out sticker

Junk stopper: Hongkong Post will launch the opt-out sticker scheme on September 1.

*

Hongkong Post today announced the launch of a new opt-out sticker scheme for its circular service on September 1, allowing people to refuse unaddressed circular mail.

The stickers will be free at all post offices, District Office public enquiry service centres, and management offices of public housing estates and selected private developments.

By putting the sticker on the letterbox people will no longer receive unaddressed circular mail delivered by Hongkong Post.

Circular mail from policy bureaus, government departments and related organisations, Legislative Councillors, District Councillors, election candidates and charitable bodies eligible for tax relief are exempted from the scheme.

People can call 2921 2222 for enquiries.
