Water quality at 13 beaches rated 'good'
*
Environmental Protection Department

The Environmental Protection Department has rated water quality at 13 beaches 'good' for this weekend.

Nineteen beaches are 'fair', while Ma Wan Tung Wan is still 'poor'.

Seven gazetted beaches - Anglers', Approach, Ting Kau, Casam, Gemini, Hoi Mei Wan and Lido Beach - are closed to swimmers year round because of poor water quality.

The public is advised not to swim at these closed beaches.

The department also said many beaches are likely to be more polluted than their grades suggest during and after periods of heavy rain.

Bathers should avoid swimming at beaches for up to three days after a storm or heavy rainfall.
