Weather on a Special Day

On the day you were born, was it sunny with a light breeze or rainy with gusty winds? To find out what the weather was like on a special day, check Hong Kong Observatory's newly launched online weather databank. It can give you the answer in seconds.

The "Weather on a Special Day" databank has information spanning more than 100 years, from 1885 to 2002. It provides comprehensive information such as temperature range, sunshine duration, rainfall, and any tropical cyclone or rainstorm warning issued.

Members of the Weather Family, including Sunny, Phoebe, Cumulus, Didi, Break and Sponge will greet you onscreen and tell you the weather condition.

You may also make use of the webpage to create special greeting cards for friends and relatives.

Owing to an interruption in service during World War II, weather information between 1940 and 1946 is not available.

Visit the "Weather on a Special Day" website at www.weather.gov.hk/wxinfo/climat/specialday/html/select_e.shtml.
