New channel seeks student loan scheme views
*

The Education Bureau has launched a new platform on Yahoo!HK gauging public views on how to improve the operation of the non-means-tested loan schemes from now to June 15.

People can access the dedicated Yahoo!HK webpage, GovHK portal's Education & Training cluster or the Student Financial Assistance Agency website for the scheme details and leave feedback.

The agency administers three non-means-tested loan schemes for full-time tertiary students pursuing publicly-funded programmes, full-time students pursuing self-financing and locally-accredited post-secondary programmes, and students pursuing continuing education programmes.

The review, covering the scope, eligibility criteria, application procedures, interest rate, repayment arrangements, and measures to address the default situation, will be conducted in two phases. The first phase began on March 15 and will last three months.

Besides the online platform, the public and stakeholders can also submit views to the NLS Review Team, Non-means-tested Loan Scheme Section, Student Financial Assistance Agency, 12/F Cheung Sha Wan Government Offices, 303 Cheung Sha Wan Road, Kowloon; send a fax (2110 4716) or an email.
