Retraining Board appointments announced
*

The Education & Manpower Bureau has re-appointed Michael Tien as chairman and Dr Ng Tat-lun as vice-chairman of the Employees Retraining Board while Agnes Mak, Cheng Kai-ming and Sin Kai-ming were appointed as new members.

All the appointments last one year and will take effect from April 1.

Secretary for Education & Manpower Prof Arthur Li welcomed the appointments, and said he was confident the board would continue to provide high quality retraining services to the jobless to help them adapt to the changing market and manpower needs.

Professor Li also thanked the departing members - Anthony Au, Cheung Pak-chi and Poon Siu-ping - for their contributions to the board.

The board plans to offer about 96,000 retraining places in the 2007-08 financial year.
