HK students nab awards at physics games

*

Five Form 6 students from Hong Kong have won three silvers, a bronze, and an honourable mention at the 37th International Physics Olympiad in Singapore.

The silver medallists are So Kin-ming from St. Paul's College, Chan Ching-king from Yuen Long Merchants Association Secondary School, and Ng Kwong-hei from La Salle College.

Lee Tak-man from Sing Yin Secondary School took a  bronze medal, while Wong Wai-kit from Tsuen Wan Government Secondary School received an honourable mention.

The team of five was selected from the participants in the Support Measures for the Exceptionally Gifted Students Scheme. Hong Kong University of Science & Technology and the HK Physical Society put them through intensive training for nine months before the competition.

Eighty-six teams of students participated in the event, which started on July 8 and finished today.
