HK-Mainland education ties to be strengthened

*

The Government has agreed to strengthen co-operation with the Mainland on education matters and to enhance the exchange of talent, the Secretary for Education & Manpower says.

Prof Arthur Li joined Permanent Secretary for Education & Manpower Fanny Law in a meeting with Minister of Education Zhou Ji and other officials during a duty visit to the Ministry of Education in Beijing today.

The two parties discussed the collaboration and admission procedures of the higher education institutions on both sides, as well as enhancing exchanges among secondary schools.

"The meeting has paved the way for further discussion in the future," Prof Li added.

He and Mrs Law also paid a courtesy call to the Hong Kong-Macao Affairs Office.

Prof Li returned to Hong Kong this evening.
