Sun Yat-sen expo to open

An exhibition on Dr Sun Yat-sen's economic blueprint will be held at the Dr Sun Yat-sen Museum to commemorate the 150th anniversary of his birth.

 

Opening tomorrow, it will be hosted by the Leisure & Cultural Services Department, the Guangdong Museum of Revolutionary History and the Dr Sun Yat-sen Museum.

 

Running to February 22, it features valuable artefacts, historical photos and interactive exhibits that reveal Dr Sun's blueprint for national reconstruction and his grand vision.

 

Highlight exhibits include his written work The International Development of China, plans illustrating the national railway network, a share certificate of the Chaochow-Swatow Railway Company in 1909, and photos of Dr Sun's study of industry in China.

 

Deputy Director of Leisure & Cultural Services Louis Ng, Guangdong Museum of Revolutionary History Curator Yang Qi, the great-great-grandson of Dr Sun's elder brother Derek Sun and Museum of History Director Belinda Wong, officiated at the opening ceremony today.

 

A Fun Day will be held at the museum on November 12 - the date of Dr Sun's birth.

 

Activities include interactive theatre, guided tours of the Dr Sun Yat-sen Historical Trail, and music performances.
