September 27, 2015

Secretary for Education Eddie Ng will leave for Beijing tomorrow with more than 150 education workers on an exchange tour in celebration of the 66th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

The participants come from National Day Delegation from the Educational Sector of Hong Kong programme, which has been organised since 2006 to promote exchanges and co-operation between education workers of Hong Kong and Beijing.

The delegation will visit a number of education institutions including Peking University, as well as kindergartens, primary schools and secondary schools there.

They will visit Lugou Bridge and the Museum of the War of Chinese People's Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, and attend a talk on the One Belt, One Road initiatives.

They will be received by state leaders and officials of the Ministry of Education, and will attend the flag raising ceremony on National Day.

Mr Ng will return to Hong Kong on October 1 and Under Secretary for Education Kevin Yeung will be the Acting Secretary for Education during his absence.
