Chief Secretary Carrie Lam will leave for Beijing upon her return to Hong Kong from Australia on September 19 to attend the inauguration of the International Institute for Conservation of Historic & Artistic Works.
At the invitation of the Palace Museum, Mrs Lam will officiate at the inauguration and the launch of its first training programme.
She will also witness the signing of a letter of intent on staff development between the Leisure & Cultural Services Department and the Palace Museum.
Mrs Lam will then head to Guangzhou for the 2015 Guangdong, Hong Kong & Macau Co-operation Forum and the Qingyuan Investment & Development Summit to be held in Qingyuan on September 21. She will return to Hong Kong after the event.
During her absence, Secretary for Labour & Welfare Matthew Cheung will act as Chief Secretary.
